I had great pleasure in joining nile perch heaven in january 2007, I was looking to getting away somewhere warm fishing, & as I was going by myself I started to look on the internet for a firm that took individual's & just by chance I came upon NPH & gave them a ring, saying I was by myself & looking to join a group to get away fishing, they said that if any thing came up, they would get in touch, well with in 2 weeks they were on the phone asking me if I wanted to join them for a weeks fishing on lake nasser & I jumped at the chance, booked the flight & was off within 2 or 3 weeks

i was picked me up at luxor airport by there manager Ibby who is now a good friend, met the rest of the lads & was booked in to hotel to wait for the morning to travel to aswan to pick up the boats on the lake. My first impression of the lads were they honestly & warm welcome they offer me. The next morning they were outside the hotel at the time they said, loaded the bus & started our journey down to Aswan. I must say it was a experience travelling down to Aswan in a convoy, but arrived on time where we met the other members of the crew & set sail down the lake to our first fishing spot, must say, on the way down, a spead of food was layed on to feed us all while travelling down, just sitting there on the boat was amazing, we were getting to know each other & were having a laugh & i was starting to get into this, already I was starting to get a sence of excitment of what lay ahead

we hit our first mark, but after about a hour or two they decided to head further down to better fishing grounds, I had read up on lake Nasser & knew it can be hard this time of year, but hey, I was here for a break, the fish were a bonus & was going to enjoy, fish or no fish. well we got further down the lake &MP; for 3 days we were trolling with everything we could throw at them with no joy, the food was good, no, it was excellent, we were all getting along great, everyone relaxed,the fishing hard, but, that's fishing.

0n the fouth day we were trolling this area which was a good spot when Owen hit a fish, not big, but a fish, so may be our luck was starting to change, we started trolling again when my rod wrapped round & I was in to a fish, this felt a good fish, staying deep &MP; then I felt it coming up to hit the surface, shit, did you see the size of that, this beast came right out of the water, f---k me I thought, it's huge, it must had jumped 6 times, I was trembling, it was my first nile perch & he was a biggen, he tired & as he came to the boat, Ibby took his shot & he was ours. well, my heart was in my mouth, what a fish, they eyes, well, they were like headlights of a car the way the sun caught them, we travel into shore to look at this beast, no, i would say honour this fish, it was a pleasure to have met this fine fish, we took our photos & then weighted it, she went 102lb, f--k me, my first nileperch &MAMP; it was over a hundred pounds. I was honoured to have caught this fish, a fish of a life time,but I hope not. I've been with these lads 3 times now, I consider them my friends now, I can honestly say, they are a great bunch of lads right down to the crew boy, they want you to enjoy yourself, have no worries & just fish 24/7 if you want.Well, we let this fish go after a while, it took some time to get his breath back, but as he flicked his tail ,the whole boat was calling to him to go, must say, I had a tear in my eye, the arab fishermen were moving in on him as he tryed to get deeper & then he was gone. Well, I sat there stunned, took me a while to get a rod back in my hands, but that will give me memories for years to come, I hope to go out soon, & just may be, well, on lake nasser, I honestly believe that nothing is possible to catch a bigger one &MP to catch a fish of a life time & know you can catch bigger, well, I hope I can go many more times yet, well the week ended & as we were saying our farewells at the airport, i knew we would meet again, funny thing is, 6 weeks later, we were travelling back down the lake, on another adventure, never had I enjoyed a trip so much, the company was great,the food excellent, the fishing,well, as all fisherman know, if your going to catch you catch,but hey, get on the boat,relax, enjoy, & may be,JUST MAY BE, there be a tear in your eye.
